My SO and I were first time buyers in the district and had no clue how to buy a house. We are also have very specific tastes and I am, to put it mildly, more than a little surly. Seriously, I have disdain for everything.

So the fact that I am willing to be totally enthusiastic about Lindsay should say something. Not only is she very knowledgeable about the process of buying a house (and willing to entertain countless inane questions about financing and inspections), she has a level of enthusiasm that kept even this sullen chick happy throughout the process.

She quickly understood our taste - and didn't waste our time showing us things we wouldn't like or try to talk us into something crazy ("You'll get used to the commute, I swear!"). Even when we had a minor meltdown over a rejected offer, she was always honest but upbeat. She saved us from a lot of stress by explaining everything and being very available.

Lindsay is terrific. I always thought of real estate agents as either total flakes or complete slimeballs, and was thrilled to find that Lindsay is neither. After Bank of America completely dropped the ball on my mortgage, she hooked me up with a lender who was able to pull my loan together in less than two weeks (while I was in Mexico) to close on time.

She has a good undertanding of all aspects of home-buying, which is very helpful for a newbie. She also has good taste and quickly understands what you are looking for without pushing you to spend more than your maximum. She is very flexible, once meeting me to look at places on a Saturday night from 9-11pm since that was the only time I could go. Lindsay is also very tech-savvy and rapidly fires back via either text message or email.

I would absolutely recommend Lindsay to others - not only will you appreciate her professionalism, expertise, resourcefulness, and flexibility, you will actually have a good time in the process.

During the few months my home was on the market, Lindsay diligently worked at marketing my condo and had incredible internet presence. I was getting 3-4 people walking through my house on a daily basis! She was extremely knowledgeable about the market and the surrounding competition, yet another factor that lead to my house selling before all the rest. I purchased my first home through Lindsay. She made the experience so wonderful. She is the most caring, honest, and understanding person that I know. She did not pressure me to buy above my means just because the VA allowance was available. She took her time to help analyze expenses and project payments on the front end, and not once did she make me feel as if any of my questions were dumb. She was always patient, and she always took the time to explain everything in detail regardless of the time it may have taken. Lindsay is fantastic. Seriously, there aren't enough words to describe how happy and grateful I am to have had Lindsay help me purchase my first home. Like another reviewer, I found her ad on Craigslist. I was trying to decide between her or a few other realtors, but her Web site and blog really sealed the deal. They're very helpful resources and really helped me get a good feel for the purchasing process.

My initial meeting with Lindsay was great. She went over the home-buying process, explained her services and patiently answered all of my questions. She didn't even make me sign a contract granting her exclusive rights as my realtor! Most other realtors do that, but Lindsay was willing to help me without it. To me, that meant she was truly interested in helping me find my home, not just her commission. I knew then and there that I had found the right person to help me.

Lindsay and I spent about two months searching for the perfect place. Well, the perfect place turned out to be a foreclosed unit, and those can be quite difficult to purchase. Another realtor had stolen the keys to the unit from the lockbox so no other buyer could make an offer. Lindsay called the seller's realtor to let him know I was interested in the place and asked him to let her know if and when an offer is made. Lo and behold, an offer came in the very next day, which was supposed to be Lindsay's day off. She rearranged her schedule so we could put together my offer and submit it before the office opened in the next day. I also had some trouble with my lender, and Lindsay was able to immediately refer another lender to me. Without her help, I would have never closed on time and would have ended up paying a penalty fee.

I can't sing enough of Lindsay's praises. It was a pleasure working with her. She did what all realtors are meant to do: she acted in my best interests and made the home-buying process a breeze. Lindsay worked around the clock to make sure I found the perfect place for me. Thanks to her, I did.

My husband & I worked with Lindsay this past summer to purchase our first condo. It was a great experience & I highly recommend her if you are looking to purchase in DC. She had a great knowledge of the area and was very familiar with every condo building we looked at.
